Ptosis is the paralysis of the muscles of the eyelid. It is commonly called droopy eyelids. The paralysis can be caused in various ways, including congenitally or from a stroke. One of the surgical procedures that can partially correct ptosis is called a frontalis lift, where the eyelids are connected by fascia ties to the frontalis muscles (the muscles in the forehead).
