A cave site with double entrance located in the extreme northern end of the Coixtlahuaca Basin. The cave is on the very far edge of the Mayan region, but would most likely be used by other ancient people such as the Zapotec and Mextec. The cave gets its name from natural looking bridge that is above the cave. The cave functioned as a sacred entrance into the basin. Several Coixtlahuaca codices refer to this cave. In codex depictions, the cave was believed to be the place where Quetzalcoatl descended from heaven.
There are several murals at the Colossal Natural Brige. These Murals in the cave depict anthropomorphic figurs with protruding beaklike mask. This could be a shamanic trance that once took place. Another mural shows a deer ready to be sacrifieced by a figure holding a blades. Another sacrifical mural is present as well.
