What's stand for

Netbooks are typically laptops with screen size smaller (typically 7, 8.9 or 10 inches) that consume less power and could have less memory (because these use SSD instead of hard disks) for using with the network. There are optimized distributions for this machines (for display better in small screen, optimize write in SSD, only install indispensable programs in OS, etc.) called Netbook Distributions[citation needed].

List of Netbook distros

  1. Ubuntu Netbook Remix. Official Canonical distribution for netbooks. Minimum requeriments are 512 MB of RAM and 4GD of SSD or hard disk.
  2. Easy Peasy. Ubuntu based distro. It uses Ubuntu Netbook Remix interface
  3. Eeebuntu. It's purpose it's make Ubuntu-based distro for Eeepc although it works for other netbooks
  4. Linux Mint. It's ubuntu based distro. Have three different editions. It has extra repositories other than defaults of ubuntu.
