Claims of notability ("profound impact on the Bristol music scene"; "widespread praise within the media") not verified. Google news search shows no hits for this band. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:55, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

- Keep FID are a well known up and coming band on the Bristol scene, although not as successful commercially as other Bristol bands, they have influenced bands such as IAMTHEDOOR and My Friend Friday, 2 of Bristol's leading lights in the unsigned scene. As a local promoter at a number of Bristol venues such as Mr Wolfs and the Louisiana, I can vouch for FID's importance to the Bristol scene and the UK unsigned scene as a whole. - Comment If citations can be provided to verify this impact, then they should be added to the article. The argument "They're notable because I say they're notable" doesn't really hold much water. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Delete My search for references to this band failed to turn up anything of substance Dylanfromthenorth (talk) 12:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Keep Google news searches cannot be used to verify a band's influence. Although the band are unsigned, they have subjectively, of course, had an influence on other local bands that cannot be directly proved.User: Martyn Jones —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.54.182.212 (talk) 19:00, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Comment Please refer to WP:V. Although a band may well have been a major local influence, if this fact can't be verified by reliable sources, then Wikipedia can't include it. I repeat my note above that your argument basically reduces to "They're notable because I say they are." That's not how Wikipedia works. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:37, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

- Delete - there are no reliable sources writing about this band. Without these sources, claims that they are influential in the Bristol music scene are completely unverifiable. notability is not established. -- Whpq (talk) 16:22, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. The article claims that the band results from the breakup of a "supergroup" called Fate By Chance - which also has zero google hits. Possible hoax. bd2412 T 21:04, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- Keep Author of the article. Firstly, I wrote the article in good faith and as accurately as possible. I realise that the claims made must be reasonably substantiated, however in such an instance, this is difficult. Local bands (especially in that area) only receive comments and reviews in the local media, who only have a paper presence. Moreover, the band are relatively new, unlike the bands mentioned above by Dave Simpson (a reliable source by himself), who can be googled and have been influenced by FID. Aside from this, I am working on obtaining the direct references from the quotes I have used in the article, although this is a difficult process. I do aim to update the article as soon as possible to reflect this. Until then, I would hope the website I have provided within the article would serve to prove the authenticity, at least, of the band.User:FID-Fan
