COUM Transmissions è stato un gruppo britannico di performance art influenzato dal dadaismo e dai Merry Pranksters.

Sono stati formati a Kingston upon Hull (Yorkshire) nel 1969 da Genesis P-Orridge e Cosey Fanni Tutti. Le loro azioni sono caratterizzate da una forte componente autolesionista che funge spesso da detonatore per una guerriglia psicologica finalizzata alla trasgressione delle regole sociali e contestazione nei confronti del puritanesimo stratificato.

Fecero inoltre parte del gruppo Foxtrot Echo (o Echo Foxxtrot), Fizzey Peet, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson e Chris Carter.

Il gruppo fu attivo fino al 1976, quando cambiò nome per diventare Throbbing Gristle.
