The Norwegian Data Inspectorate (Template:Lang-no) is Norwegian Government agency responsible for managing the Personal Data Act of 2000, concerning privacy concerns. This Act replaced the Data Register Act of 1978.

The authority is based in Oslo, and is an independent administrative body under the Ministry of Government Administration and Reform.

Since its estalishment in 1980 it has had two directors. Helge Seip served from 1980 to 1989, with Georg Apenes assuming office in 1989.
