The New Alhambra Sports and Entertainment Center is a bingo hall in South Philadelphia on the corner of Ritner Street and Swanson Street. It served as the home of the seminal wrestling promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) from May 14, 1993 until the promotion's demise in April 2001. The arena was formally known as Viking Hall, and informally as the ECW Arena. It acquired its current name following a change in ownership.
In the 1990s, a dollar store operated next door to the arena. ECW fans would purchase low-price cookware and bakeware before shows and then hand them to wrestlers during matches to be used as weapons.
The New Alhambra is still home to a few regional wrestling promotions. It has been frequently used by Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) since December 15, 2001, and is informally known by them as the CZW Arena. The venue also featured an ECW reunion event, Hardcore Homecoming, on June 10, 2005 and also on November 5, 2005 in the form of Hardcore Homecoming's last show November Reign. Starting in January 2006, it became home to the Xtreme Fight Club promotion.
