I Rüstsätze erano una serie di kit di modifica prodotti per gli aerei della Luftwaffe durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Erano assemblati in kit, di solito direttamente dal produttore di aeromobili, e potevano essere montati direttamente sul campo, a seconda delle esigenze di utilizzo. Diversi aerei tedeschi potevano essere equipaggiati con questi kit, prevalentemente bombardieri e caccia notturna. I kit Rüstsätze potevano essere montati in campo o, in alternativa, durante il processo produttivo direttamente dalla fabbirca, in base alle richieste della Luftwaffe, al contrario invece dei kit Umrüst-Bausätze, che erano generalmente montati solo dal produttore.
Il tipico kit Rüstsätze comprendeva cannoni o mitragliatrici aggiuntive, spesso montati in gondole sub-alari, bombe e serbatoi supplementari, corazzature supplementari, carburante, e vari aggiornamenti dei sistemi elettrici. I kit erano indentificati da una letterea R, a cui seguiva una numerazione progressia. Alcuni di questi aggiornamenti sarebbero diventatati quasi di serie su alcuni velivoli. Ad esempio, il kit R8 per il Messerschmitt Bf 110, che aggiungeva un cannone sparante verso l'alto per l'utilizzo contro i bombardieri, ed è stato spesso chiamato ufficiosamente Schräge Musik, era stato montato alla fine su quasi un terzo dei caccia notturni tedeschi.
La nomenclatura è stata spesso motivo di confusione, in quanto ogni tipo di aeromobile utilizzato Luftwaffe propria serie unica di / serie R (così come la fabbrica montato / U-serie) numeri: il "/ R2" kit per un Messerschmitt Bf 109G era per il montaggio di una coppia del potente Werfer-Granate 21 (WGR 21) sottoala razzi montati, mentre il Focke-Wulf 190 usato il "/ R6" designazione per questo montaggio stessa esatta.
R1: l'equipaggiamento radio standard, veniva sostituito con il migliore sistema FuG 16ZE (FW 190A-4 e A-5)[1]
R1: veniva montato un cannone WB (Waffen-Behälter) 151/20 in pod sotto ogni ala (FW 190A-6, A-7 o A-8)[1]
R2: veniva montato un cannore MK108 calibro 30 mm in pod sotto ogni ala (FW 190A-6 e A-8)[1]
