Request: I've already tried lightening up this picture and uploaded the new version, but the result is extremely grainy. Could you please try and ungrain it some? André Kritzinger 14:14, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Graphist opinion(s):   Done: Noise reduced, but I think that the source file is to dark to do better. PawełMM (talk) 16:56, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Great job! (Difficult place to take a picture, with the train doing 90km/h - I was surprised it even came out usable!) André Kritzinger 23:28, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Graphist opinion(s):   Request taken by Smalljim.

Done Cropped, also cleaned and colour adjusted. I've uploaded it as a jpg (smaller file size) as I can't see any benefit in it being a png, but I'll upload another copy in that format if you want.  —SMALLJIM  11:17, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Power line removal request

Article(s): Capt. Elisha Phelps House

Request: Similar request to the one Kingpin13 did so nicely - this is a photograph of an historic 18th century house and tavern featured in Capt. Elisha Phelps House. If the power/telephone lines could be removed, it would look much nicer. If, in your view, it would be better if cropped, to remove the trees from the right, please do so. Graphist opinion(s):   Request taken by Smalljim. - I'll have a go then.
Done. I think the trees should stay, for balance.  —SMALLJIM  21:06, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Request: Could do with some cleanup. Particularly problematic is the white splodge by his mouth, but the whole thing is a little dusty. Great featured picture candidate; will almost certainly pass with some cleanup. See currently open nom. J Milburn (talk) 11:14, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Graphist opinion(s):   Request taken by Vearthy.: I'll try to clean this up ;)

Ah - I'd already had a bit of an attempt at this, which I'll post anyway. I wasn't going to post a "take" until I'd seen what I could do. It's a huge file, so I concentrated on the "splodge" and the most obvious speckles when viewed at a reasonable size (about 30%). I'm sure someone might be able to do it much better, though.  Begoon•talk 15:28, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

  • As this is marked stale, I had a go at it. I've cleaned up all the "salt and pepper" spots and the scratches, also removed the embossed signature and adjusted the levels to suit my (semi-calibrated) monitor - I note it's quite a bit lighter than the other versions, but it looks good to me. Not sure about that one hair on his chin (visible at 100%): I thought it was the result of a bad shave, but I'm not at all sure now - any comments?  —SMALLJIM  19:55, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
    • It's far better than my rushed effort. The only comment I would have is that by "lightening" it quite that much there's a jarring (to my eye) glare on the nose and cheek. I actually feel the nature of the picture lends itself to tending towards darker. But as far as cleaning up goes. it's very good indeed, and that's the important part - the brightness is just a matter of taste.  Begoon•talk 13:21, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Request: cut apart and restitch panels... Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 09:03, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Graphist opinion(s): This is going to be a little difficult. The image in the black patch is completely missing and would have to be manually drawn. If it is that important, I could do it for you. But I would not want to do it unless its important. — Finemann (talk) 12:39, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

It's a historical document, and important in that one of the men shown to surrender actually committed suicide before the event. This one looks torn from a book. Anything you can do would help.--Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 18:11, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Done: I tried to do that. PawełMM (talk) 17:39, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

  • Working from PawełMM's version, I've tidied it up a bit further and patched in the missing detail in the black bar. Feel free to revert if such patching is not appropriate.  —SMALLJIM  23:03, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
