Q-1 is horribly wrong! Quantization is not invertible. Option 1 is only possible if no quantization is done and the compression algorithm is lossless. The whole article has a lot of errors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.155.108.64 (talk)

- I noted in the article that it represents a sample delay; it's obscure conventional DSP notation based on the Z transform. Dicklyon (talk) 18:16, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
