Jazz de la Cuevas(born Ashley Venus Vaello, June 16, 1989)is an American actress. Born in New York City to parents of Puerto Rican decent, she was raised in Sunnyside, Queens by her Mother. Though her Father lived with her periodically through out her childhood, she claims he was never apart of her upbringing, and they still do no talk to this day.
At the age of 5 Cuevas' Mother enrolled her in dance classes at a local dance studio. There she excelled at Ballet and developed a love for the arts. Cuevas' life as a dancer was short lived, and was forced to drop out, due to family money problems. From there Cuevas was enrolled in after school Drama classes, where she was cast in school productions of, Snow White, The Wizard of Oz, Guys and Dolls, and musical numbers of classic Broadway showtunes. Her talent and love for performing was very apparent and was almost always the youngest member of any school production.
Cuevas never being satisfied enough, she tried out for the school Choir though she knew she was too young, and surprisingly was accepted.
