Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is the college of engineering for Devi Ahilya Vishva Vidyalaya (DAVV), the University of Indore. The college was founded as an autonomous institute in the year 1996. It is located at the Takshilla campus on Khandwa Rd., about 5 miles south-east of Indore.
Situated on a large lush green forested campus, IET offers undergraduate and graduate engineering programs in five major disciplines along with hosting a wide variet of research labs and student outreach programs.
History
IET was founded in the year 1996 in an effort to increase the number of seats in engineering colleges state-wide. Complementing the renowned DAVV school of electronics and the International Institute for Professional Studies (IIPS), the college helped complete the technology and management related offerings from the University of Indore (DAVV). The presence of scientific institutes like CAT and growing technology parks around the city made it possible to provide the resources necessary to culminate it into an invaluable center of learning in western Madhya Pradesh.
Admission to the college is granted on the basis of applicants' rank in the merit list from the pre-engineering test (PET) conducted by the state of Madhya Pradesh education board.
The reputation of this institutes mechancial branch is established due to the excelent works of Prof R.S.Modh and Prof. A.I.Khandawawala.
This college becomes the choice of top rank holders in MP.
Atleast 10 students of NITIE 2005-07 batch of PGDIE(MTech) and PGDIM belongs to IET DAVV Indore
