The Digivice is a device from the fictional anime/manga Digimon series. The Digivice is used by DigiDestined (Chosen Children) /Tamers in the anime seasons 1-5, as well as the manga V-Tamer, Chronicle, and D-Cyber (Chinese manga). There are many types of the digivice.

During Season One of the anime series, it is revealed that the Digivice is just a tool that was designed to help in the Digivolving process.

Digivices used in the Anime

Digivice (Basic)

Original Digivice
Original Digivice
  • Used in Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.
  • Also used by the International Digidestined of Zero Two as well.
  • Can be used to track another Digidestined's Digivice.
  • Could only be used to digivolve the digimon as far as the Champion level.
  • An additional ability is that the Crests are used in conjunction with the Digivice to achieve the Ultimate Level. Turns into the following different colors when used; Tai: Orange, Matt: Light Blue, Izzy: Purple, Sora: Red, Mimi: Green, Joe: Gray, T.K.: Yellow, and Kari: Pink. Tai and Matt's crests were later upgraded where they gained the ability to digivolve Agumon and Gabumon to their Mega Level forms as well.
  • The ability for the eight Digidestined's Digimon to digivolve to their Ultimate and Mega forms were later lost after the eight Digidestined gave up the power of their crests. Later Azulongmon's power allowed for them to be able to digivolve to Ultimate again which was later sacrificed to give Imperialdramon the ability to Mode Change into Imperialdramon Fighter Mode. Then Agumon received more power to regain his ability to evolve into WarGreymon in order to confront BlackWarGreymon.
  • Other additonal abilites during Season One include:
    • Purifying Digimon possessed by the Black Gears, or some improving their behavior, after contacting the light of a Digivice.
    • In conjuction with each other Digidestined Digivices it can restrain enemies by using light.
    • Also in conjuction with the other Digivices, can create a cube of light that can contain dimension destroying explosions.

D-3 Digivice

Davis' D-3 Yolei's D-3 Cody's D-3
TK's D-3 Kari's D-3 Ken's D-3
  • Digivice used in Digimon Adventure 02.
  • Only the Digidestined Davis Motomiya, Yolei Inoue, Cody Hida, T.K. Takaishi, Kari Kamiya, and Ken Ichijouji gained this Digivice.
  • D-3 stands for Digital, Detect, and Discover.
  • Has all the basic funcitions of the normal Digivices.
  • Resulted from Ken Ichijouji wanting to have a digivice of his own, not Sam's. Davis, Yolei, and Cody received theirs when Tai touched the Digi-Egg of Courage in the Digital World. While T.K and Kari received theirs when they found their Digi-Eggs.
  • Allowed for Armor Digivolution (Digimental Evolution) the ancient form of Digivolution by infusing the Digivice with the ancient Digi-Egg (Digimental) which is stored in the Digidestined's communicator device the D-Terminal. This Digivolution is used by everyone except for Ken. (However Ken finally used this Digivolution in the CD Drama "Michi E No Armor Shinka" when Ken used it to stop Davis from hurting Veemon)

D-Terminal
  • Also allowed for D.N.A. Digivolution (Jogress Evolution).
  • Only way to open the gate to the Digital World in Zero Two (Normal Digivice alone won't work but will still allow entrance to the digital world if someone with a D-3 opens the gate for them).

Suzie's D-Power Ai and Mako's D-Power
  • Digivice used in Digimon Tamers.
  • Can be used with a Digimon playing card for Digi-Modify (Card Slash).
  • Originally the primary Tamer's Digimon needed to be exposed to Calumon's power in order for the D-Power to digivolve them to the Champion Level. Then starting in Episode 14, a Digivolution Card was used instead for this function.
  • Has a built-in Digimon Analyzer.
  • Can used with a Blue Card by the Primary Tamers for Matrix Digivolution.
    • Note - In the Japanese version, Matrix Evolution is only displayed on the digivice screen, and not said by the actual Digimon.
  • Can be used by the Primary Tamers and Ryo for access to Biomerge Digivolution (Matrix Evolution).
  • Takato and Rika received their D-Power Digivice's by slashing a Blue Card through a card-reader.
  • Henry received his by slashing a blue card through an online digimon gaming console.
  • The other Tamer's D-Power Digivice's appeared before them in a shroud of light.
  • Takato's original red D-Power was destroyed as a result of Guilmon becoming Megidramon, and he received a new gold D-Power in it's place.

  • Digivice used in Digimon Frontier.
  • Main purpose was for Spirit Evolution (Which in the English Dub falls into the subcategory of Beast Spirit Evolution when a Beast Spirit is used).
  • Can also be used to do a Fractal Code (Digi-Code) Scan.
  • Created by Ophanimon by changing the Digidestined Cell Phones into D-Tectors (except Koichi, who's D-Tector came out of Koji's)
  • Takuya and Koji's were first enhanced by Seraphimon's power to be able to use Fusion Evolution (Double Spirit Evolution) and then were later upgraded by Ophanimon to be able to use Unified Spirit Evolution (Hyper Spirit Evolution).

Digivice iC

Masaru's Digivice iC Tohma's Digivice iC Yoshino's Digivice iC
  • Digivice used in Digimon Savers.
  • This series' digivice is the Digivice iC, which is believed to be loosely based on the iPod. The buttons on its face are the same as the series logo, and it appears that the Digivice can be opened up, possibly to store cards within, as its size is roughly the same.
  • It allows Digimon to digivolve via "Digisoul Charge". The lead characters are able to generate something known as a "Digisoul" (emerges from the human partner's hand) which, when received by a Digimon, allows them to digivolve. (Almost similar to the "Spirit Evolution" in Frontier, with the exception of the human evolving into a Digimon)

Digivices used in the manga

Digivice 01

  • Used by the chosen of V-Tamer.
  • Taichi got his from Whamon as a parting gift.
  • Had all the functions of the original v-pet and a built in analyzer.
  • Comes in a few different colors (silver/blue and black/black).
  • By "hittin" two Digivice 01 together, the user can cause a Jogress Evolution. To cancel this evolution the Digivices must be crossed.
  • Allows the user to send commands to their Digimon.

Digimon Pendulum X

  • Considered as the Digivice of Chronicle.
  • Had an X-Antibody indicator on it.
  • Comes in different Colors.

D-Cyber

  • Used by the Tamers of the Chinese manga D-Cyber.
  • Shape of a flip-style cell phone.
  • Also had an X-Antibody indicator.
  • In reality, the toy is just a hacked Pendulum X made by Bandai Asia.
