Architecture tradeoff analysis method

ATAM stands for Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method.

It was developed by the Software Engineering Institute at the Carnegie Mellon University. Its purpose is to help choose a suitable architecture for a software system by discovering tradeoffs and sensitivity points. A risk mitigation method that can occur early in the software development life cycle when it is relatively inexpensive to change architectural decisions.
