County Flags of England

Article(s): List of English flags, Flag of Yorkshire, Flag of Lancashire, Flag of Buckinghamshire, Flag of Hertfordshire, Flag of Huntingdonshire, Flag of Middlesex, Flag of Sussex, Flag of Westmorland, North Yorkshire.

Request: Redraw these files as SVG and enlarge them to the size of the County Flag of North Yorkshire.

Graphist opinion(s): The size of an SVG doesn't matter, since you can scale them to any size without loss of accuracy. -Enlarge them anyway please.

Did my best with the hilt. Maybe someone more experienced needs to take a look at it. Roshan220195 (talk) 21:38, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

School Seal

Article(s): Miss Porter's School

Request: This is the only image I could find of the school seal. It's a little grainy. Could you clean it up a bit? Megadesk (talk) 16:32, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion(s):

German wiki's got a slightly better version. Worth SVG-ing, but I don't have the skill to deal with the fancy font. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 02:09, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Myanmar Army insignia

Article(s): Army ranks and insignia of Burma, Myanmar Army

Request: Please help convert these military insignias (not bound by copyright) into SVG formats. Many thanks in advance. Hintha(t) 09:22, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

These are very much bound by copyright; did you not notice the CC-by templates? Nyttend (talk) 13:16, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I understand that, but the designs themselves are no longer bound by copyright (the author of these works may not be aware of this), as Burmese government works are bound by copyright for a maximum of 50 years (which would be 1962), before they are released into public ___domain (Copyright Act of 1914, p. 22, for reference). These insignias, first published from 1948 to the 1950s, are thus no longer bound by copyright. Here's a reference of Wikicommon's phrasing here: Template:PD-Myanmar --Hintha(t) 02:07, 17 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Official seals of Thai provinces

Article(s): Seals of The Provinces of Thailand, Provinces of Thailand, as well as individual province articles

Request: A humble request to convert these (largely) black and white seals into SVG format, in line with prevailing standards. All of the seals are in public ___domain. Many thanks in advance! Hintha(t) 04:56, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great Seal of Maryland has copyright/quality issues

Article(s): Many, especially Seal of Maryland and Template:Current Maryland statewide political officials

Request: The two faces of the seal were apparently uploaded from the state website and incorrectly tagged as PD in Wikimedia (the reverse has been up for deletion for some months). The version from the federal document is, well, pretty bad, both in visual quality and accuracy (e.g. the back of the mantling and the coronet should be red, not blue). Would it be possible to make a better PD version? Note that it is the reverse that is widely used; the obverse only appears in articles on the seal itself and might be brought back to Wikipedia and fair-used. Article(s): Double Irish arrangement

Request: the NYT has a nice illustration for this [1], it would help the article if someone could take a look at that page and make a compareable illustration for the wiki page. A1000 (talk) 09:07, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Stop & Shop logos

  Resolved
 – Leyo

Article(s): Stop & Shop

Request: Convert to SVG, please? If it is any help, sister company Giant-Landover uses an identical logo, and it has already been converted to SVG at File:Giant Food logo.svg. Only difference in Stop & Shop's current logo and Giant's current logo is the text. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:49, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I also found both logos at Brands of the World: old and new. Also found the new logo with text underneath rather than to the side. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:52, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion(s):   Doing...Connormah (talk) 22:03, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  Done - I located PDFs for both (the brands of the world ones were slightly off, for the old one at least). – Connormah (talk) 03:47, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish Parliament seats

Article(s): Scottish Parliament

Request: As Bill Walker was suspended from the Scottish National Party (yellow) on 4th March, and subsequently expelled on 8th April, please create a duplicate file with one more independent seat (grey) and one less SNP seat. Thank you, DrewMek (talk) 15:54, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

SVGify, please

Article(s): POSCO, SAP AG, Hutchison Whampoa, SK Group, Unisys and SAIC (company)

Request: Please convert into SVG. Nyttend (talk) 13:15, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion(s):

You have not even checked if there are SVG logos present in other language versions of Wikipedia. There are in all cases but the last in de.wikipedia articles. The text-only logos might be moved to Commons in order to make them available for all Wikipedias. --Leyo 07:44, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Try to complete the logos as quickly as possible, since its been put long ago.--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 04:54, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Who is this addressed to? My comment was intended to be a hint for Nyttend on how to get SVG versions. I moved two logos to Commons, but I won't upload any logos here. --Leyo 08:19, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm deeply sorry for my remarks, I hope you would complete the rest of the logos.--(talk→ Kkm010 ←track) 08:58, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  Done all. – Connormah (talk) 06:01, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

resonance structures of BF

  Resolved
 – -- Orionisttalk

Article(s): Fluorine

Request: Create illustration of the three BF lewis dot diagrams as per this page: [2]. Keep it short and wide (left to right equations). I don't care if we use the vs or if we use the double-headed resonance arrows. Please add (a), (b), (c) below each possible structure. (This will help me discuss the stuff in my caption.69.40.252.66 (talk) 01:25, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion(s):

Mmmh, this is doable, but I'm not a chemist, so what is a BF lewis diagram? Do you mean the diagrams of molecular bonds (singlet/double/triplet)? Which exact figure (or part of a figure) are you refering to? Martinor (talk) 05:53, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Think I got it. vlad§inger tlk 17:19, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

fluoride bridging ligands

  Resolved
 – -- Orionisttalk

Article(s): Fluorine

Request: Create illustration mimicing this graphic (keep the side by side aspect and (a) and (b)). But make following changes:

  • cut the "boxes" (bracket on left, box on right).
  • Change the X's to F's.
  • Get rid of the squiggly stuff in the right, bent ligand, model, but go ahead and have a line coming out of the L (iow -L-M-L-)

69.40.252.66 (talk) 01:35, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion(s):

Which graphic are you referring to with 'this'. The one requested to be created above? Martinor (talk) 05:53, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'm stumped too. =P. I don't see anything with X's in the paper you linked in the request either, please respond if you want this done. vlad§inger tlk 17:26, 17 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, done as per request on my talk page and this source [3]. vlad§inger tlk 02:36, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Arrows

  Resolved
 – Jon C (talk)

Article(s): N/A (For use on Wikibooks, b:Template:Arrow, we don't have our own graphics lab there.)

Request: Please create a version of each of these images (as a separate file) with the outside white instead of transparent. The intended use is on b:Template:Arrow, where it will be used in the way the Template:Soccer icon is here, so another image can be overlaid on top of these, creating a blue arrow or a brown arrow or whatever.  Liam987  09:16, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion(s): Would a full collection in some other format be ok ? I don't get the whole SVG thing, would PNG be ok for you ? When you say white outside, are you wanting a keyhole effect where they are overlaid and you can see something under them, but only in the middle ? Penyulap 17:44, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think that would be fine  Liam987  06:54, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, these are prefect  Liam987(talk) 15:20, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
