Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE) (Federal University of Pernambuco) is a public university located in Recife, Brazil.
Its main campus, known as "Cidade Universitária", is on the west of the city, next to the Várzea neighbourhood. UFPE's Law School (Faculdade de Direito) is located in the center of the city.
UFPE is the seventh Brazilian federal university in size and scientific production. Over 22,000 students are signed.
Founded in 1946, today it has 10 centers in 149 hectacres of main campus area, in Recife.
