String Driven Thing sono una band folk rock scozese, [1], originariamente formata nel 1960 e guidata da marito e moglie Chris Adams e Pauline Adams e con il violino elettrico di Graham Smith. [2]
Storia
Formazione
String Driven Thing si forma a Glasgow in 1967 come una folk band con gli Adams ed il chitarrista John Mannion. Dopo aver frequentato il circuito folk scozzese pubblicano l'album omonimo sulla etichetta indipendente Concord (le cui copie sono da collezione e difficili da trovare) parecchio tempo prima delle pubblicazioni con la Charisma. Il gruppo si trasferisce a Londra nel 1970 e Chris Adams inizia a guidare il gruppo verso il folk-rock elettrico genere a lui più congeniale. Nel 1972 assume il violinista di formazione classica Graham Smith e il chitarrista Colin Wilson al basso, ma subito dopo Mannion lascia la band a causa di divergenze musicali.
