This category is for varieties of languages covered by ISO which do not have their own ISO639-3 codes. For languages which are not covered by ISO at all, enter "none" in the iso3 field, at the article will appear in a dedicated category.
Dialects should normally appear in this category if the article has a language infobox, as ISO codes are not generally dialect-specific and therefore should not be used in such cases. The "iso3" field should be left blank; 'none' is inappropriate for dialects subsumed under the ISO code of their parent language. Linguist List, Linguasphere, Guthrie and AIATSIS may, however, may provide dedicated codes that are appropriate for dialect articles; if one of these is included, the article will not appear here.
Protolanguages should similarly appear here (rather than tagging them with 'none'), as ISO does not apply to them.
