Saab 91 Safir

The SAAB 91 Safir is a three seater, single engine trainer aircraft built by Saab. It has a six cylinder Lycoming engine with 190 hp (142 kW). It has also been fitted with a De Havilland Gipsy Major or a four cylinder Lycoming engine.

First flight on November 20, 1945, 320 units were built in 4 versions (A, B, C and D). The A and B versions were 3 seaters. The Safir was used by the Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, Austrian, Tunesian and Ethiopean airforces as trainer aircraft.
