Sports radio

Sports-talk radio is a form of talk radio devoted entirely to discussion and broadcast of sporting events. A popular format with an almost exclusively male demographic in most areas, sports-talk radio is characterized by an often-boisterous on-air style and extensive debate and analysis by both hosts and callers; political commentary is rare, but in the United States what little there is tends to lean conservative. Many sports-talk stations also carry play-by-play of local sports teams as part of their regular programming.

Sports talk is available in both local and syndicated forms, and is carried in some form on both major North American satellite radio networks.
