Template:R to user namespace/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:R to user namespace. It may contain usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template should not be substituted.

This redirect category template (Rcat) automatically sorts redirects into two categories:

• Category:Redirects to user namespace (for cross-namespace redirects), and
• Category:Unprintworthy redirects (for redirects from the main article namespace)

At some point in the future, Jimmy Wales wants to make a printed version of the full Wikipedia encyclopedia. Redirects from the main article namespace that target pages in the user namespace are not suitable for a printed version. In other words, they are unprintworthy and will populate Category:Unprintworthy redirects by default.

This is in accord with instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT.

• Template {{This is a redirect}} may also be used to add this and other appropriate Rcats to a redirect.
• Use this Rcat on all redirects to a page in the user namespace from a page outside of the user namespace. This Rcat should never be used on a redirect in the user namespace that targets any other page.
