Jamie-Lynn Sigler (born May 15, 1981) is an SAG Award Winning American actress. She is most famous for her role as Meadow Soprano on the acclaimed HBO television series The Sopranos.
Brief Biography:
Jamie-Lynn Sigler was born on May 15, 1981 to a Cuban mother (Connie Lopez) and a Father (Steve Sigler) who is Greek, Romanian and Jewish. Jamie-Lynn's mother converted to Judaism when she married Steve Sigler. Jamie-Lynn started acting in local theater and in school plays. Sigler grew up in the Town of Jericho New York. Sigler's early career started with roles such as Anne Frank. Her first major broadway role was Beauty and the Beast. She was also in Roger & Hammerstein's Cinderella tour. She landed her Role on the Sopranos in 1997. She took the role because she though it had to do with music.
CAREER:
Jamie-Lynn Sigler is an SAG Award winning Actress from New York. She was born of May 15, 1981 to Connie and Steve Sigler. Her Mother is a Cuban decent and her Father is Greek, Romanian and Jewish. Today Jamie practices the Jewish faith. She has two older Brothers, Adam & Brian. Jamie-Lynn Sigler is best know for her Role as Meadow Soprano on HBO's Emmy Award winning series, "The Sopranos." Meadow is the daughter of North Jersey Mob Boss Tony Soprano. Jamie-Lynn has has several other Roles. In 2004 she Stared as Heidi Fliess in the USA Network bitopic, "Call Me: The Rise and Fall of Heidi Fliess". She will also be seen in two upcoming horror movies. Those are "I Remember" and "Dark Ride." Both are Lead Roles. She also has a Lead role in Lovewrecked, a Romantic teen Comedy due out by this summer. Jamie will also be seen in "Homie Spumoni" a movie about an African American born to Italian parents.
In 2002 Jamie played Belle in The Tony Award winnig Broadway Musical Beauty and The Beast. Her performance got rave reviews by critics from around the globe. In 2001 Jamie released her Debut Album, Here To Heaven which is a latin-flavored pop album simular to those of Christina Aguilera.
Jamie-Lynn was also in Mariah Carey's Music Video "Through the Rain" in 2002.
HOME AND PERSONAL LIFE:
In Jamie's Sophmore year of High School her boyfriend broke up with her. Jamie was devestated and developed Anorexia and excercise Bulimia. She got up at 4AM and worked out for 2 hours. She dropped to 90 lbs in a one to two month period. She was limiting herself to only 500 calaries a day. Jamie Contemplated Suicide. When with her parents one day her work out scheduale was disrupted. Her parents found out and took her to a Psychiatrist and Nutritionist. Jamie says it took her four years to fully recover with her weight but the pain will always be with her.Today Jamie is a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association. She also founded her own company called the Jamie-Lynn Sigler Foundation. In 2002 she published her autobiography called "Wise Girl" In the book she talks about her struggles.
In 2000 Jamie was bit by a tick while filming "Campfire Stories" in New Jersey. She lost feeling in her legs and collapsed. She was paralyzed from the waist down for 12 days. She spent those 12 days in the hospital. She was lucky and only came out with ADD. Today Jamie still sees doctors because of what happened.
In 1999 she met her manager, AJ DiScala. They became very close. In 2003 they got married. Two years later the filed for divorce. Jamie was "dissapointed" with the situation. She did feel depressed but her Dog was a comfort to her. She is now dating Scott Sartiano.
Jamie currently resides in New York City with her dog.
