Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev (Template:Lang-eng) is a drama series based on the legends of Shiva, also known as Mahadev. It premiered on 18 December 2011 airing Monday through Friday nights.

The drama is inspired by the works of mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik.

Dubs

The show has been dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, Oriya, Telugu, and Indonesian with titles Shivam, Kailasanathan, Mahadev, Hara Hara Mahadeva, and Mahadewa respectively. The Tamil series airs Monday to Friday on Star Vijay. The Malayalam series airs on Asianet Monday to Saturday. The Telugu series airs Monday to Saturday on MAA TV, and the Indonesian series (has been started on June 2, 2014) airs on ANTV channel Monday to Saturday.

Awards

For the 2012 Zee Gold Awards, Mohit Raina was nominated for the Most Fit Actor and Mouni Roy was nominated for Most Fit Actress.[1]

Music

For the first 140 episodes, music was composed by Sandeep Mukherjee, Kartik, and the Bawra brothers, Inder and Sunny. Sandeep Mukherjee composed music for the next few episodes after which the Bawra brothers were chosen to compose music for the remainder of the series. The Pakhawaj player, singer and composer Pandit Bhavani Shankar recorded an original composition for the Tandav sequence shown after Sati's death.

Production

Ritoo Jenjani has done the prosthetic makeup for the presentation of Kali.[2]

Reception

The episode of 9 September 2012, featuring Kali killing the demon Raktabija rated the shows highest TRP with an 8.2 TVR.[3]

DVD Release

The official DVD version of the series has been released by Ultra Distributors, as a set of 10 DVDs containing all the episodes up to the Mahadev-Parvati wedding.[4]
