GitLab is a software repository manager. GitLab is similar to GitHub, but GitLab allows developers to store the code on their own servers rather than servers operated by GitHub. It is free and open source software that is distributed under the MIT license.[1] It is available as Omnibus package,[2] as a one-click install from Bitnami[3] and on DigitalOcean.[4]
