Hi, I have submitted a document already on Mr. Vijay R Kirloskar . The same is yet not approved . I request you to please accept the same , so that the same gets published. If anything is required to authenticate the details, please convey so that I can arrange for the same.
Regards Geogy George Citkirloskar (talk) 09:25, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Citkirloskar, your draft was deleted because it was a WP:Copyright violation of: http://www.ceoclubsindia.com/?q=node/9144 . It is absolutely forbidden to simply copy-paste other websites onto Wikipedia, we do not permit theft of others' intellectual property. Even if CEOClubs has expressly said they're fine with their work being released under WP:Creative Commons, we can't just accept your word for it, the organization itself would have to file a WP:OTRS form with management. That said, most such websites are not good material for copying anyway since they do not present material in a neutral and objective manner.
- If you want to write about this person, I strongly suggest you start from scratch rather than copying. Before you even begin, please read WP:Notability (people), to make sure that he meets that guideline, and if so gather your sources before you even begin writing, as only clearly sourced information is admissible. Hope this helps! MatthewVanitas (talk) 14:50, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

- Hello 113.199.144.215, what is your question? Right now the draft is being deleted because it is copied from http://www.preservearticles.com/2011112617936/write-a-essay-on-patriotism-essay-for-school-students.html . If that site is your own writing, you could release it to Wikipedia with a WP:OTRS form, however the material you've copied is not at all suitable for an encyclopedia, as it's written like an emotional essay/editorial, not at all like an encyclopedia article. If you want to write about Nepal, might I suggest you start with some basic Wikipedia learning at Wikipedia:Learning the ropes, and then next move to improving our current articles about Nepal which need work? I had submitted a lot of material on' Kalayana' purely on the basis of the Puranas. Here and there I might have added my observations and conclusions. I am surprised to know that such an information has been rejected attributing bad faith. Was it because I was leaving strong evidence that may lead to the conclusion that the Kalayavana who has bee described in the Puraanas was none other than Alexander the Great ? 07:53:15, 9 December 2014 review of draft by Mikaamit
I want to add a new page without it being reviewed. Is it possible?
Mikaamit (talk) 07:53, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- It is possible but it is generally not a good idea. The individual described in your draft User:Mikaamit/sandbox looks likely to be notable under Wikipedia's standard Wikipedia:ACADEMIC, so you may wish to go ahead and submit it by putting {{subst:submit}} at the top of that page. - Stuart 1 2 3 (talk · contribs) (TB)
Hello
I created a draft page about James Dixon on 13th November. I realise there is a backlog - but I wondered if you could advise if this page is likely to be approved - and if so when I should expect it to go live. Please also let me know if there is anything I can do to improve the page.
Stuart 1 2 3 (talk) 12:42, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Stuart. Drafts are not reviewed in strict order, so there is no way of saying for certain when a review will happen. One could speculate that, having awaited review for nearly a month, it will hopefully happen fairly soon.
- With regard to its chances of being accepted, I am not certain. As I understand it, Dixon's claims to notability are essentially his work for a local council, where he was Chairman and also served for a very long period in other senior roles, a primary school being named after him, and mentions of him in local newspapers. This may or may not be enough to establish his notability by Wikipedia's standards... it is rather borderline. Any additional reliable sources that you can provide would help.
- It may be worth formatting the two Beckenham Journal mentions as references so that they appear in the References section... they do not need to be available online in order to do so. A reviewer might otherwise not notice that they are valid sources for supporting Dixon's notability. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:07, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Stuart 1 2 3: Declined A person who might be well-known locally is not necessarily considered notable on Wikipedia. Beyond that, this entry needs to have more independent and reliable sources to verify both the facts and your assertion of notability. Chris Troutman (talk) 14:37, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

- Amsoft2001 (talk · contribs) (TB)
I have created the draft to let Wikipedia know that there is an entity named "AM Infosystems". I have noticed that it has been declined and deleted. It is really disappointing. When I did that draft, I took enough care to make it proper as per wikipedia guidelines. I don't think I have promoted any product or all of the services that the organization render. I searched wikipedia for "Infosys", "Tata Consultancy Services", "WEBEL" and so on and I noticed that all of the organizations (Practically a Company or Business) are there. So I thought why not us! We might be smaller one and not a giant, but as those entities can have place on wiki, then we should have our place as well. If Wikipedia does not allow Business Entities to promote them or put them on wikipedia then the above Pages (and more I'll provide) needs to removed immediately as well. I think rule is rule and the same rule should be applied on every entity, does not matter if it is a big one or small. I hope that I'll get a proper information.Thank you. Amsoft2001 (talk) 04:44, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Amsoft2001. Wikipedia does have articles about companies, in cases where the company has received significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. The issue is not whether articles about companies are permissible, but how the article is written. Draft:AM Infosystems was looked at by two experienced administrators, both of whom took the view that the way it was written was so hopelessly promotional that it would need to be completely re-written in order to be an appropriate encyclopedia article.
- The articles about Infosys and other companies may or may not be better written... if not then they could be deleted too. You could find better examples of articles about companies by looking at some recognised Wikipedia Good Articles from the list at Wikipedia:Good articles/Social sciences and society#Businesses & organizations. Hi there, I'm Ashiq and I created THEFILMHOUSE for my Film Production Company. and I got this message;
Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "THEFILMHOUSE", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. VVikingTalkEdits 12:52, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
My questions are;
Do I have to change the username or the Article Name? What should I do next?
thanks
- @THEFILMHOUSE: - You should follow the instructions here and change your username to something that can be identified as an individual rather than a company. Regarding your submission, it is written in a completely inappropriate tone and unsuitable for an encyclopedia. For example : "The Film House is a world-class production company and filmmaking collective at home in Doha, Qatar. With bold imaginations and creative productions" World-class according to whom? Anyone can have bold imaginations and "creative productions" doesn't mean anything - who would want to be uncreative? Are you as significant and successful as Film Four, Mirimax or StudioCanal? You should read the plain and simple conflict of interest guide and understand why you probably don't want to be writing this sort of article on Wikipedia at all. Sorry. I have two questions:
1. Regarding my International Tax Policy Forum submission -- the reason I got for rejection was the references are not verifiable. They look fine to me.
2. Regarding my Camp Manitou for Boys submission -- it seems to have disappeared. I want to do some edits so it can finally get published. How can I find it, if it was deleted?
- Wikipedia content should be based on reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspapers or reputable magazines. None of your references meet this standard; they without exception were written by ITPF or a conference they sponsored.
- There is Draft:Camp Manitou for Boys, written by User:Robert J Wells. Most of the references you listed at that account's talk page seemed to be of little use to me, with the Business Insider list of "absurdly expensive camps" the best of the bunch. Huon (talk) 21:22, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

I keep getting denied and am not sure why, can someone please explain to me what am I doing wrong? Dkozko6 (talk) 16:45, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Dkozko6: If you don't understand why then you can't read. Reviewers have been leaving comments on the draft. If you would act on those you'd be farther along. In fact, you made very little progress between your June review and your September review and you've made no changes since September. This makes me believe you're not taking this seriously.
- The draft is overtly promotional.
"He likes to spend time with his family and childhood friends."
and"has always had a passion for creating and discovering solutions"
are good examples. Please read WP:TONE and WP:PUFF. - You have a list on general references and articles about living people need to have in-line citations. Most of the "references" you list aren't both reliable and independent. You should remove those entirely. At least one of the "news" websites you list is a press-release. Most of the remainder are business news articles reporting about some company that Kozko has some stake in. The articles aren't about him so they provide some verifiability but no notability. I don't think the subject could be considered notable so I'd just give it up. Do you have a financial interest in this draft? Chris Troutman (talk) 21:20, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
18:03:42, 11 December 2014 review of submission by Tomxcoady
The given reason for rejection is subjective and unsubstantiated: "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject." It would be useful to have a more constructive critique that builds on the facts; most of the claims have objective citations. Tomxcoady (talk) 18:03, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- The page you linked to, Chantal Coady, was deleted because it was an unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.lesdameslondon.org/members/. Your draft at Draft:Rococo Chocolates was rejected not because of your connection, but because it read like an advertisement. Yes, part of that is that an account called Tomxcoady is editing an article about a company founded by Chantal Coady, but also because of the flowery language in your article that isn't substantiated by significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article. --Ahecht (TALK

- @BonnieAClark: I get what the reviewer is "feeling" from the draft but I can't point to particular phrases, either. Part of the issue is that the source material is kinda puffy which is why your draft reads that way. I don't think I'd accept your draft based on general notability. This WikiProject's metric is that any draft accepted stands better than 50/50 odds of not being deleted. I'm not sure your draft passes 50/50. If no one accepts it within a month, let me know and I'll accept it and throw it to the sharks. Chris Troutman (talk) 00:17, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
22:40:45, 11 December 2014 review of draft by Strnbrg59
How am I doin'? This will be my first Wikipedia article ever. As I'm just translating an existing, well-documented, article in Hebrew Wikipedia, I haven't put anything into the references section; my reference is the corresponding Hebrew article.
Mordechai Tsanin meets your criteria for notability. The University of California, Berkeley, library has fifteen of his books.
Please let me know if I'm at least on the right track.
Strnbrg59 (talk) 22:40, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Strnbrg59: The corresponding Hebrew article, he:מרדכי צאנין, doesn't have references which is a problem. English Wikipedia is the largest and certainly the strictest. Since you can't use Wikipedia as a source you're going to have to find reference material to support your draft. To that end, see our notability criteria about academics, authors and our guidelines for biographical notability. There are a great many people that are known in their field or their hometown that don't pass our criteria, so don't be so quick to assume you can prove notability. Chris Troutman (talk) 22:57, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
@Chris Troutman Hi, thanks for that quick turnaround. I see what you mean, about the lack of references in the Hebrew article. Fortunately, it does provide a link to a long obituary piece in HaAretz (one of Israel's leading dailies, paper copies of which can be found at major American university libraries). Would it be acceptable for me to finish translating the Hebrew Wikipedia article, leaving out anything that's not also mentioned in the HaAretz obituary, and then declare that obituary as my one and only reference? Or I could straight-out translate the obituary; how would that sit with Wikipedia policy? Too close to plagiarism? Please let me know. (I'd actually prefer option 2; the HaAretz article is better written than the Hebrew Wikipedia article.)
Now as to notability, are you suggesting that could be an issue here? There are many people in the English-speaking world who are interested in Yiddish culture and letters, but who are unable to read the Hebrew article. (There's a Yiddish Wikipedia article on Tsanin too, but it's quite short.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Strnbrg59 (talk • contribs) 23:27, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Strnbrg59: I'm not discussing if there's an audience for the article; I'm sure there is. That's not how our notability criteria works. I welcome you translating from the Hebrew-language article but it would be a copyright issue taking text from the Haaretz material. By all means, use that as a source to write more content. Copying within Wikipedia is generally ok. Because Wikipedia is CC-BY-SA, we need you to write in your own words. Chris Troutman (talk) 00:31, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

I was originally hoping that the article could be in the mainspace by the premiere (or shortly after). Is there much chance of this happening? Also I notice that a reviewer did comment that there was a section of another article that dealth with the same show (although with considerably less information. I created this one as I think that it is effectiveky a seperate entity now (or will be when the showw premieres. Thanks in advance. MisterMeph (talk) 19:28, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

- @MisterMeph: You copied a fair amount of content from here, which I had to remove. I'm not sure the subject passes WP:TVSERIES, since Netflix isn't exactly a "network." Chris Troutman (talk) 15:45, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Hello, as soon as I saved this new article, I received a note in my talk page that submission is refused and I wanted to know the reason behind that. Thanks Mervat Salman (talk) 22:05, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- Mervat Salman, your article is published at List of banks in Jordan, and best as I can tell was not submitted as a draft, unless you used a different account to do so. NOTE: please do not include phone numbers, addresses, etc, since Wikipedia is not a directory. Just the names/locations are sufficient. I suggest you take a look at other List of banks in [X Country] articles to see how the others are formatted. MatthewVanitas (talk) 01:43, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- MatthewVanitas, thank you for your note. I fixed the article by removing the phone numbers. Thanks again for your guidance. Mervat Salman (talk) 18:10, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, I have submitted my article for a review. I am unsure as to the English Grammer, References used, and need to get it right for acceptance.
Could you please take a look at a high level, and let me know what I need to correct/edit or work on.
- Q1: How do I indicate the title of the article "Chaheru", in a sandbox environment? Done
- Q2: Reference 5 and 6 deliver the same point. Ref is a page out of the same book as ref 6. How should this be correctly stated?
- Q3: Reference 8 (1 page) is a page out of a book, but the book has not been listed....how should this be corrected?
- Q4: Reference 10 (actual report) and 11 (url to deliver the report). The report is in "Punjabi" language, but the point is in English. Not sure if this will be accepted. Not sure if both refs are required.
- Q5:Under famous viewpoints, I reference "Lovely University...". Not sure if reference 17 URL should be provided, since the university is accredited, has 25,000 students, but privately funded?
- Q6:General...Could you please take a look at all of the references and give me some tips/guidelines for improvement of the article.
- Q7:General...Could you please review the entire document and let me know where I have missed references and where I have grammatical errors.
- Q8:Given there is very little information available on the village "Chaheru" and I have used "decades" to indicate chronology. Not sure if this would be acceptable?
Thx. Mr. Kinder Deo

I am writing to seek your advice on my article that was rejected. I put these together about my father who though not a famous person has influenced the life of many very significantly. What specific supporting material can I provide to enable publishing of this piece (I have read the links that were provided about reliable third party references and not totally sure about the specifics on what to provide). Appreciate your help.

Yesterday I received a message from YmBlunter quoting "I had to remove all the text you added since you copied it verbatim from the external site. First, this constitutes copyright violation. Please never ever do it again if you do not want your account to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Additionally, this is not a reliable source. The information in the article must be supported by reliable sources.--Ymblanter (talk) 13:04, 13 December 2014 (UTC)".
Yes,it is true that I copied the contents from the official website. But the reality is that I am the administrator of the website. So its me the copyright holder of the text in the website since I created the page and the details.I am confused by this copyright issues. How can I resolve this problem?I want to include the same description in wikipedia as like in the official website. Is there any problem for that?Kindly help me to publish this article. The draft about the artist Royal Nebeker contains a quote the artist told the Huffington Post and a link to an image of one of his paintings also at Huffington Post. Is the copyright concern just with the painting link? (How do you delete an image suggestion, I built this in a sandbox)
Or is the quote also a problem? (it's cited and I did not use any of the author's words, only the words spoken by the artist). thanks! Derbinator Derbinator (talk) 15:42, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
