Plot
20,000 years ago, the Faery race assisted humans in a battle against the Violent Demon Tribes and sealed them away. Due to modern day pollution and man's destruction of nature, the power of Faery magic has weakened, allowing the seal to be undone and the Tribes escape. With the help of Dr. Dazai, Shilon, the last of the faeries, summoned five high school seniors. As children, they were showered with the "flames of spirit" of the fallen faeries in a forest, and can now hear Shilon's voice. Donning powered suits, the product of a collaboration between Shilon's magic and Dr. Dazai's science, the five become the Turboranger. Juggling days of fighting with their regular school lives, in order to fight the Violent Demon Tribes.

100 Violent Demon Tribe (暴魔百族 Bōma Hyakuzoku)
Lost to human-Faery coalition 20,000 years ago. They are now free due to pollution having weakened the Faery magic that sealed them. They intend to conquer Earth and eliminate humanity.
- Great Emperor Ragorn (Daitei Ragorn)(1-39, 46-51):
The absolute dictator of the Violent Demons. He is initially partly immobile as he can still move his head and arms, he always remained seated. He is shown merciless and cruel to everyone. He sends Zimba and Jarmin on their death missions and suggested that Yamimaru be made a new officer to Rehda. He sends Rehda to have his new Super Violent Demon Beast try to kill the Turborangers.
He 'dies' after the conspiracy of Yamimaru, who decided to kidnap Riki and pit him against Ragorn in a one-on-one battle to the death. Riki mortally wounds him with a stab at the heart, causing him to explode. However he becomes mobile and he becomes giant. He is then 'killed' by Turbo Builder (Fighter Mode) when the Super Turborobo combined with the Turbo Builder. He later revives himself by consuming energies of hatred and sadness around him, and becomes the gold-skinned and mobile Neo-Ragorn. He faces the Turborangers as a giant in the final episode in which he is killed for good.
- Doctor Rehda (1-30):
Bearded genius mystic. Gifted and cruel, he hates humans so much and his schemes involve killing humanity with various tactics like through using their own deeds against them. He is very skilled in witchcraft. His favorite tactics one involved using human pollution, another involved the use of a racing monster and other tactics.
He was sent to take care of the Turborangers with the Chomajin Boma where he almost buried them alive. When he saw the Turborobo pass by, he used his efforts to lure Red Turbo out. This was because of his tiredness of Yamimaru's delaying tactics that he decided a final battle should be fought. In that battle, Red Turbo and him duel to the death. He reveals his illusion powers from his cape (and his ugly visage under it) in an attempt to wipe out Red Turbo. However Red Turbo managed to counter his attacks, stabbed him at the stomach and performed a GT Slash which inevitably killed him but not without final words.
- Zimba (1-28):
Samurai-like masked warrior in black armor, expert in all martial arts. Hates love and his plans usually involve tearing apart loved ones. The reason is because Zimba was once actually a man who fought with a powerful opponent for a princess he loved. At the end of the fateful battle, Zimba was worn down and near death -- the princess was disgusted by his appearance and abandoned him for worms to devour. He died, a supernatural grudge born, transforming his corpse into the beast he is today.
Tired of his repeated failure, he was sentenced to death by Raghorn and it gives Yamimaru the opportunity to trick him into walking into a deathtrap by challenging the Turborangers one last time. He was killed by Red Turbo with a GT Slash. Yamimaru enlarged him into a far more powerful form where he defeated the Turbo Robo. He was then killed by the Turbo Builder.
- Princess Jarmin (Jāmin-hime) (1-29):
Magician who, when angered, flashes her true face, which is that of a snake. A cold and cowardly woman who uses a whip. Her tactics involve deceit especially where she forced two non-violent demon beasts to fight for her. When she was forced by Ragorn to challenge the Turborangers one last time, she revealed she had a hidden ally called the CrocoBoma. Jarmin then asborbed CrocoBoma to assume a giant-demon form and was killed shortly afterwards by Turborugger.
- Zulten (Zuruten) (1-39):
A fat, disgusting creature able to turn into golf cart-like vehicle for Jarmin. A cheat who does anything to win; weak willed, always sucking up to superiors. He was the last of the original four bad guys serving Raghorn to be killed. He was killed when Raghorn was somewhat defeated by Red Turbo.
- Wular (Ūrā):
Foot soldiers. They are black-skinned grunts able to merge into ball-shaped Wular Dumplings. Their name is derived from the Japanese term "urami" (grudge). Led by two captain named Wu and Lar who are red colored who no longer show up later on.
Fallen Violent Demons
They are Hanyo, the offspring of human and a demon.
- Yamimaru (15-51):
A Fallen Violent Demon who was refused from being a member of the Violent Demon 100 Tribe. Because he was helf-demon, Yamimaru wasn't sealed and simply wandered Earth for 20,000 years to obtain as much knowledge as he could, while never being accepted by people. In modern times, Yamimaru assumed the guise of Hikaru Nagareboshi. Originally shaggy-haired, later gains flashy red and black armor. When he saw Zimba dead, he decided to use Zimba at his own advantage to destroy the Turborobo. He rides the giant bat Dragras. Hating both humans and Violent Demons, plots the downfall of Ragorn along with Kirika. He suceeded in Raghorn's supposed death by kidnapping Red Turbo and having the two battle against each other. Took charge of creating misery for the Turborangers until Ragorn's resurrection to where he was almost killed if not saved by Kirika. He became peaceful in the end.
- Weapons: Shooting Star Gun, Darkknife, Darkaxe, Darkbow, Shooting Star Sword, Darksticks, Darkspear, Darkshuriken, Darkspider.
- Kirika (31-51):
Another Fallen Violent Demon. She orginally lived as a normal girl named Sayoko Tsukikage until she learned that her father was a demon on her 18th birthday, shortly after finding that the man and woman who raised her were really just Skull Monsters. As Tsukikage, was an outcast in the school who secretly loved Riki. She is permanently connected to Yamimaru through the "red thread of fate." Cruel and lacking compassion, her resentment of humans stems from her life of being bullied. She's repulsed that the blood running through her is a mixture of human and demon, deciding to call herself a full-fledged demon and throw away her humanity for Yamimaru, resulting in his power-up and her armor. She can combine with Armor Violent-Demon to become Armored Kirika. She meets her true father, a peaceful demon named Kashiam, who tells her of how much he loved her fellow peaceful, human mother, who wanted for both sides to coexist and this begins to break the hatred of Kirika and causes her to cease fighting. She manages to save Yamimaru and left to live a peaceful life with him, as Sayoko and Hikaru.

Trivia
- The Turboranger suit design was the basis for the Titanium Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
- The concept of car-based weaponry and giant mecha was later used again in Gekisou Sentai Carranger. The series was not originally intended to mimic Turboranger, but later proved to be very similar in some ways except the Carrangers fought against aliens, not ancient enemies of mankind and had two females instead of one.
- It's ironic to see how Zimba dies by Red Turbo alone but can defeat the Turborobo or how Red Turbo can beat Ragorn in a one-on-one battle, without having been killed.
- The part where Red Turbo duels Zimba to the death is a recycling of Red Mask's slaying of Baraba except that Baraba wasn't enlarged and Zimba was. The idea was also incorporated into Fiveman where Five Red kills Billion.
- The show's opening and ending themes song were sung by Red Turbo himself, Kenta Satou who later sang for Zyuranger.
- The characters of Zimba, Jarmin, Rehda and Zulten were later recycled into other concepts. Like Zimba may have been modified to Grifforzar, Zulten into Bukbak. Jarmin's desgn was mixed with the design of Flashman's Ley Nefel to create Lami for Zyuranger. The next possible inspiration is that Rehda may have inspired Daimaoh of Kakuranger since both were extremely intelligent.
- Ragorn's being initially immobile is similar to Goggle Five's Fuehrer Taboo. Also his being killed twice is similar of Dai Satan in Zyuranger, a series which came later.
- It is the first sentai to write off villain cast memebers a lot. Zimba dies in episode 28, Jarmin dies in episode 29, Rehda dies in episode 30 and Zulten dies in episode 39. They were quickly written off. The reason was supposedly a decision on the part of the writer and producers' due the series becoming stale and trying to liven it up by focusing on the storylines with Yamimuru, Kirika, and the Nagare Bouma or more likely, the actors leaving the cast for some reason unknown.
