Messhermit

  • There is a strong probability that Messhermit may be involved in the recent vandal attacks on the article Ecuadorian-Peruvian war. While most of the recent attacks have come from open proxies in Lima (see this request for investigation), the first ones came from IP addresses in Miami (which is where Messhermit apparently resides). Messhermit is banned from editing any article on the history of the Ecuadorian-Peruvian dispute for one year (see Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Messhermit), and it looks an attempt at gaming the system, with the help of one or more friends from Lima.
  • The fact that Messhermit came out fast to report an "edit war" between the IP users and me, (see [1]), and the wording used when he asked for a full protection of the article (see [2]), which was denied, as well as the modus operandi of the IP vandals only reinforce the suspicion that Messhermit is involved in this issue and has recruited the help of others, apparently editors of the Spanish Wikipedia.
