The Institute of Engineering & Technology, commonly referred to as IET, is an engineering college of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. The college was founded as an autonomous institute in 1996. It is located near the Takshashila campus of the university on Khandwa Road in the south-east of Indore city, Madhya Pradesh, India. According to Carrier-360 National Ranking 72[1] and State (Madhya Pradesh) Ranking 2 in 2013[2] Ranking 1 in 2014[3]

IET offers undergraduate and graduate engineering programs in more than five disciplines along with hosting research labs and student outreach programs.

History

The institute was founded in 1996 to provide education in the field of Engineering. This is the University Teaching Department of Devi Ahilya University.

Academics

The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate awards B.E, M.E, and M.Sc.

The institute provides education in the following disciplines.

  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (Full Time & Part Time)
  • Computer Engineering (Full Time & Part Time)
  • Information Technology Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering (Full Time & Part Time)
  • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (Full Time & Part Time)
  • Civil Engineering (Full Time)


The college has some M Sc. also in maths with honors from 2010 onwards.

Infrastructure

The institute has six departmental blocks - Computer block,IT block, Civil block, Electronics & telecommunication block,electronics & instrumentation block and Mechanical block along with the main block. The institute has buildings for library, workshop, and automobile testing.

Cultural festivals

Kaleidoscope, Mridaksh, Maylanz, and Udaan are the annual cultural and technical festivals of state's leading engineering institute, Institute of Engineering & Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya held roughly across mid week of February has come to become a celebration, that everyone in central India look forward to. The first edition of these events was held in year 2000 and every year since then it is regularly getting upgraded, attaining both participation and popularity. IET organized rock concerts of many celebrities such as Kailash Kher, KK (singer), Euphoria (Indian band), gajendra verma, agni band etc.

Academics

Electronics and instrumentation engineers of the college have secured top positions in the all India GATE examinations for several consecutive years. In 2008 the institute produced five students in top 25 AIR in the GATE exam. In 2011 3rd rank of GATE + admission in IIM B through CAT and many such student getting excellent results in both CAT, GATE. Every year 5+ students were in top 100 ranks of GATE in each branch are from IET-DAVV college. For example many technical loving students got selection in IIT's, pursuing Post Graduation from International Universities like North Carolina University, Cincinnati University, Ohio State University, Carnegie Mellon University etc and others students loving management are in institutes like IIM, NITIE, XLRI, IIFT, FMS, SIBM. Even more many alumni had started their own Enterprises and few other students from IET-DAVV also serving in INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE like IAS, IFS, IES, PSC[disambiguation needed] etc.

Placements[4]

Almost all eligible students get placements from the institute. Major recruiters include Infosys, TCS, CSC, Atos Origin, infobeans, DELOITTE, Tata Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Persistent, Cap Gemini, Adobe, cognizant, john deeree, Syntel, HSBC, HCL, Accenture and Larsen & Toubro Infotech, WIPRO, Impetus, Patni, IGATE, fiserv, TekLink, Mu Sigma, NEC-HCL.

Core companies for Electronics Instrumentation, Electronics and telecommunication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, are Honda, LG, Volvo-Eicher, Mahindra(2 Wheeler), TAFE, Bosch, Reliance Power, Vedanta Resources, Mahindra and Mahindra, Avantha(Power), Sankalp Semiconductor, L&T(Construction), Force, MAN-Force Motors, WIPRO(VLSI), Kirloskar. Adobe offered 10 lakhs per annum(in India) which is highest and average is 4 lakh per annum(in India).
