I manage my talk page with the following guidelines:

  1. Please start new topics at the bottom of the page, even if it is related to a section above. Otherwise it is difficult to find the posting.
  2. I will reply to your posts on this page to keep threading unless requested or unless it is extremely urgent. I am good at keeping track of discussions, and generally do not need {{talkback}} templates.
  3. I respond to talk page messages within a few hours if I am online, or within a day if I need to do some research or thought before answering your question. I check Meta every few hours, but not as often as my home project, the English Wikipedia, so you may want to consider posting there if I seem to not have checked in here in a while. If I will be away for a few days, I will post on this page.
  4. It is generally not necessary to email me to alert me to a discussion unless it is time-sensitive or unless there are private or candid matters involved. I do not consider unblock appeals over email, and may not respond to them; please follow proper block appeal procedures.

I have submitted a subscription request, but am waiting for it to be approved.
Thanks to everyone who supported. Following my failed CU nomination on enwiki that turned unnecessarily hostile, I was dreading running for anything ever again. I did get a few opposes of the same nature as those on enwiki, but I am more than grateful for the level of support that I received here. Almost a year ago was the first time I ever was a "global" editor, and while the last year hasn't exactly been pain-free, it's been a good experience. --Rschen7754 06:24, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, it is hard to keep up with a newborn at home. I have been trying to get into the admin console for a bit now, but all I get is white page. will retry later today to get in and approve it. --Jyothis (talk) 11:12, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
@Leinad: as you are the other listed admin, is this something that you can assist with? --Rschen7754 20:10, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Rschen, has the thought ever crossed your mind that, maybe, the reason your CU self-nomination failed ... lies with you? With your actions? Maybe you shouldn't try to blame the sane people who oppose you (as "unnecessarily hostile"), and instead spend some time figuring out what you are doing wrong, and correct it. ~ DanielTom (talk) 19:51, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Considering that I had the support of quite a few arbitrators, and one arbitrator told me flat out that he did not understand the rationale of the opposers, no. --Rschen7754 20:01, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Commons:Deletion requests/File:Mi foto.jpg

Do we have any provision to handle this types of users, whose user page remains with some self promotional stuff in many wiki projects. As the files are heavily used (?); we have a difficulty to delete them! JKadavoor Jee 15:08, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, we would have to go to each wiki and request deletion. --Rschen7754 20:50, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hmm; that is very difficult. Thanks for the reply. JKadavoor Jee 02:22, 16 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Rollback is for vandals?

Hi. Please explain this revert. PiRSquared17 (talk) 22:04, 21 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

To me it is very incomprehensible and may very well be reverted away from the Forum, even if it is not strictly vandalism. If you want to reply to it, why don't you just restore it? --MF-W 22:28, 21 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
It's a crosswiki troll, if you look at the block on enwiki. --Rschen7754 00:34, 22 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

tvar

Hi. Why did you change all the tvars? Are you going to update each translation as well? If you are, it's better to use names than meaningless numbers, and the numbers really don't matter (they don't need to be in order). PiRSquared17 (talk) 23:15, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

I realized what this was doing before I marked it for translation, and I have since fixed it. --Rschen7754 23:17, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

About the report of my requests

Dear Rschen, as I have talked to you before, I have stopped my annoying actions and I knew the problem, do you mind to delete the page? Thanks for your attention. Cheers, Gabriel Lee

Page blanked, but please don't make mass requests for rights on Wikimedia. --Rschen7754 09:22, 2 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Subtle vandalism in comments

Hi. Who is this in diff 6639685? PiRSquared17 (talk) 03:28, 7 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Some guy who spammed crappy articles crosswiki, and who MF-W gblocked. He had an account on Commons before it got locked, but I forget the name. --Rschen7754 05:27, 7 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

MediaWiki

Hello. Here are the translations some messages in polish language. Please move this pages from "MediaWiki talk" to "MediaWiki" namespace. Thanks, Rzuwig 13:22, 7 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Done but next time you may get a quicker response at RFH. --Rschen7754 03:10, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism cross wiki affects eswiki

Hi Rschen, I write you to demands your help. Since yesterday someone creates a script on several small Wikipedias. The script uses FastButtons to paste vandalic messages on talk pages of eswiki users (see this page for more information). Today Tbloemink deletes a script on vewiki, but there is another page with this vandalic script:

Can you delete this page, and ban the Fbmal account, please. Thank you for your time, and spent a good time. Jmvkrecords (Intra Talk) 23:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC).Reply

  Done --Rschen7754 02:05, 11 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
I hope you realize that there is nothing stopping this user (under a different account) from creating a copy of the script or even just running it in their browser console. There is no way to prevent the abuser from using this script, but there is a way to minimize the effects of the script: create an abusefilter for a certain rate limit, and set it to disallow with an appropriate warning. Just my two cents, sorry for butting in. PiRSquared17 (talk) 04:48, 11 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, hopefully they don't think of that. --Rschen7754 09:22, 11 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you Rschen for your help, it is very appreciate. Now, there are running two filters here programmed by local sysops. Is it better a globalfilter?
