Ethnic Cleansing (2002) is a violently racist computer game developed by Resistance Records, an underground music label specializing in Neo-Nazi and white supremacist bands. In the game, the protagonist (the player can choose either a skinhead or a Klansman) runs through a ghetto murdering black people and latinos, before descending into a subway system to murder Jews. Finally he reaches the "Jewish Control Center", where Ariel Sharon, former Prime Minister of Israel, is directing plans for world domination. The player must kill Sharon to win the game.
The game was developed using Genesis 3D, an open source game engine.
The Anti-Defamation League publicized the existence of the game and unsuccessfully lobbied the developers of Genesis3D to change their licensing conditions to prohibit the use of the engine to develop racist games. They have also lobbied the Interactive Digital Software Association to encourage their members to adopt such policies.
Ethnic Cleansing is possibly the first computer or video game that was conceived, developed and commercially released having explicitly racist content (though some would argue Custer's Revenge as the claimant of that dubious honor). Games with racist themes have existed before in freeware form (for example, KZ manager) and as mods for commercial games.
Resistance Records intends to create a similar line of games based on the events of the Turner Diaries.
Also, a similar game called White Law has been released by the same developer in June 2003 [1], in which the player takes on the role of a white, inner-city cop who goes postal and lets out his pent-up rage against the black and Latino gangs who have been making his life hell, as well as some Jews (who are depicted as pimps, as well as porn and drug pushers). It, however, attracted much less attention than Ethnic Cleansing.
