Valjala Parish

Valjala Commune (or Valjala rural municipality or Valjala parish) is a rural municipality in western Estonia. It is a part of Saare County. The municipality has a population of 1570 and covers an area of 180,02 km².

Valjala Commune is situated between Laimjala Commune (east), Pihtla Commune (west) and Leisi Commune (north).

The Commune has 32 villages (bigger of them are Kallemäe, Sakla), 2 schools and kindergarten, some manors.

The oldest sacral building in Estonia is Valjala church. The construction began in 1227.
