"Jump (For My Love)" was a major hit of the 1980s, performed by the Pointer Sisters. It was later covered by UK pop group, Girls Aloud.

Pointer Sisters version

"Jump (For My Love)" was the lead track, although not the lead single, of the Pointer Sisters' 1983 album, Break Out. The song was the second of four Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles in a row for them in 1984, peaking at #3 in July. It also appeared on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. The song netted the group a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1985.

Girls Aloud version

In 2003, Girls Aloud covered "Jump (For My Love)" for the movie Love Actually. It gave them a #2 hit and became their second biggest seller. In the United Kingdom it has sold in excess of 190,000 copies.

Girls Aloud's version featured two album tracks from Sound of the Underground, as well as a cover of the theme song from Grease (from ITV's Grease Mania).

The track was released after "Some Kind Of Miracle" was pencilled in for the fourth single release. "Jump" was featured on the re-release of the Platinum-selling album Sound of the Underground.

The single sold 60,000 copies in its first week of release.
