Born in South Nassau, 1981, Liam Casey grew up in the New York City suburb of Malverne. As a child, Liam was an avid writer and wanted to become a journalist. Through his early teenage years, he was entered in a plethora of writing competitions and fairs by his teachers. His parents, James, 61, and Nora, 57, both encouraged his writing from early on. His older brother, Brendan Casey, is also a writer, doing several pieces for The Onion, New York University's school paper, and even magazines like SEED and Edison Casey's sister, Mary Clare, is currently employed as a criminal-justice attorney based out of Connecticut and New York. Liam Casey now resides in Manhatten with his brother, and is currently working on a piece for SEED.
