Raspbian is a Debian-based computer operating system for Raspberry Pi, developed by a small team of developers. It is not affiliated with the Raspberry Pi Foundation[2] but the foundation provides a Raspbian image which is listed as an officially supported operating system[3]. Raspbian is maintained by Mike Thompson and Peter Green et al.[4] which completed the initial build in June 2012[2]. The operating system is still under active development.
