Requests for IP check

This page lists requests to identify and block the IP addresses behind attack and vandal accounts that were previously listed at Requests for checkuser. After the account has been reported as blocked or declined by the checkusers, the report is moved here for seven days (most recent sections at the bottom), after which it is deleted. Because there is no attempt to establish a relationship with a puppetmaster account, no separate archive is kept, other than the page history.

Sunholm/Sunfazer et al

One of the users created in an attempt to get the IP used by Sunholm/Sunfazer, which had been responsible for rucks of vandalism over a long period, unblocked. The account became active today and engaged in some minor page move vandalism.

Brpyne

Brpyne is a vandalism only account that showed up this morning, but use of masquerading edit summaries suggests that this is the work of someone familiar with work patterns of RC patrollers. A checkuser is requested to see:

  • If sockpuppet of unblocked vandal, block the vandal(s).
  • If coming from open proxy, block the proxy.
  • If coming from non-shared IP, block the IP from account creation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nlu (talk • contribs)

Johnny Canuck, or someone pretending to be him, is going on nightly vandalism sprees at WP:ANI. Blocking the IP might be in order.

User:Ulritz

Some time ago I had a bit of a fight with an edit warrior, who tried to irritate me greatly, in the end he was suspended for 24 hours he made a few edits after the block the suddenly stopped. However ... I have encountered 2 IPs adresses which use his way of writing and seem interested in the same articles he was, and started to offend and call (me) names right away. Would there be a way of finding out they belong to this user? IP I distrust:

 Clerk note: This is in the wrong section, if you want to check a named user, use the sockpuppet check above and create the request on a separate subpage using the input box just above "outstanding requests." That said, this type of request is almost always denied as a fishing expedition. There have to be strong reasons to "out" a user's IP address, and this is a relatively minor case. The sockpuppet policy says obvious sockpuppets can be treated as such without checkuser proof, and this sounds like such a case. If this user persists in using IP addresses to avoid blocks, or seems to have created additional named accounts, you should refile the request. Thatcher131 (talk) 14:59, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well so says someone who also may not be him. For some reason this vandal logged into all their accounts this evening and posted their trademark vandalism [1] on each talk page. I could post maybe 5 times this many socks, temporarily held here [2] if it would be helpfull. I believe all of the accounts are blocked allready, but it would be nice to block the underlying IP, as they are still very active creating new accounts, causing mischief, and going on 5-20 random article sprees as well as occasional page move sprees, before being caught, blocked, and reverted.
