Function may refer to:

Math, computing and engineering

  • Function (mathematics), a relation that associates an input to a single output according to some rule
  • Function model, a structured representation of the functions, activities or processes
  • Function (engineering), related to the selected property of a system
  • Subroutine, also called a function, a sequence of instructions within a larger computer program
  • Function object, or functor or functionoid, a concept of object-oriented programming

Dominating Sequential Functions A Ph. D. thesis of Dharmendra Kumar Yadav entitled 'A Study of Indefinite Nonintegrable Functions' introduces new functions named as dominating functions, sequential functions and dominating sequential functions, which dominates all most all classical elementary functions. According to the tradition each new function has been divided into four types as trigonometric, hyperbolic, exponential and logarithmic functions. Yadav found that the classical elementary functions are the particular case of the new functions. This is the reason of calling them dominating functions. In fact dominating functions behave like superset of the classical one. These functions solve the lack of mathematical notations for many nonelementary functions generated from indefinite integrations.
