Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/IP check/Archive

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Thatcher (talk | contribs) at 01:13, 15 September 2006 (addone). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Requests for IP check

This page lists requests to identify and block the IP addresses behind attack and vandal accounts that were previously listed at Requests for checkuser. After the account has been reported as blocked or declined by the checkusers, the report is moved here for seven days (most recent sections at the bottom), after which it is deleted. Because there is no attempt to establish a relationship with a puppetmaster account, no separate archive is kept, other than the page history.

Bobby Boulders/Willy on Wheels

Probably proxying around again. Jesse Viviano 17:04, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Taracka

Self admitted sockpuppet of User:Taracka, a persistant troublemaker. Requesting IP for targeting a VERY long block. --Lord Deskana (talk) 02:31, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sir.jack the ripper

Hello, this user has taken their nonsense from the Jack the Ripper page to my userpage and talk page. This particularly heinous edit is what they started with[1]. Another admin deleted some 40 of this user's edits to that article, including this diff. Honestly, it probably isn't worth digging up. I could post more socks if it would help. It would be nice to be able to block the underlying IP if possible, I really shouldn't have my talk page protected for long. DVD+ R/W 20:22, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser request ON WHEELS!!!!

There was a sustained Willy on Wheels attack today, probably from multiple IPs. I request you block the IPs responsible. Check the block log (around 11:30 utc today) for more.

Massive sockpuppetry

One of the vandals who showed up at the same time as WoW a couple of days ago went on another account creation spree.

Dr Yay me, Esq

This user serially posts this [2] template style message on what seem to me to be random articles, though they frequent the article Brenda Song. They typically go through pretty nasty unblock abuse [3] when caught. I caught one IP and blocked it for a week, but they still are creating accounts so must have more IPs. It would be nice to block the underlying IPs because they don't seem to know when to quit. DVD+ R/W 08:32, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Michael the Californian

This user is apparently Mike Garcia (talk · contribs) confessing as Johnny the Vandal, but his message to every user he posted it to contained backslashes around "Johnny the Vandal" [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]. I'm not sure whether there's a real open proxy in the works, or if this is his attempt to make his edits look like it came from an open proxy (although it seems more like the latter). Nonetheless, please check the IP(s) behind this user's edits and then list them at WP:OP for someone to check (don't block before verification). Scobell302 21:35, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Steve Irwin sleeper accounts

Someone has been vandalizing Steve Irwin (which was semi-protected) with a litany of sleeper accounts (all the edits follow the same pattern). It'd be a fairly good thing to IP block whoever's doing it in order to prevent further disruption. --Slowking Man 03:49, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More Bobby Boulders accounts

These accounts were attacking Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit (third nomination) and Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit, amongst other pages. User:Joe Joe Phelps vandalized my talk page by replacing it with the content of the Randy Moss article, a pattern that has also been seen in recent vandalism to Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit.
