News of the World è il sesto album della rock-band britannica Queen, pubblicato per la prima volta in LP il 28 ottobre 1977.

L'album, che contiene alcuni dei più celebri brani della band, come We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions e Spread Your Wings, è stato quattro volte disco di platino negli USA. È stato inciso nello studio Sarm West and Wessex, Gran Bretagna.

La copertina dell'album è opera dell'illustratore americano di fantascienza Frank Kelly Freas. Taylor aveva il numero dell'ottobre 1953 della rivista "Analog", la cui copertina ritraeva un enorme robot intelligente con in mano un corpo morto. L'illustrazione ispirò il gruppo che chiese a Freas di illustrare la copertina del loro album; l'artista accettò di ridisegnare la copertina della rivista sostituendo l'uomo morto con i quattro membri della band.
