Please note that a straightened, cropped version of this image already exists (3rd thumbnail above), and since the image is rectangular there is no benefit whatsoever in using a png file, which the WP software makes a very poor job of rendering at thumbnail resolution. Compare this (using the png) to this (using the jpg), or simply compare the thumbnails above. Slight differences in orientation notwithstanding, I'm sure you can see that there's a vast difference in terms of acutance. Please stop converting jpg files to png files willy-nilly!
