Welcome to WikiProject Parallel and Distributed Computing Systems. This is an Academic WikiProject coordinated by Remo Suppi, professor of the module [Parallel and Distributed Computing Systems] at the School of Engineering at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. The first edition of this WikiProject will be developed in the academic year 2017-2018 and the objective is to contribute with the students of the module to different subjects related to this area. This WikiProject is open project and if you would like to help, please add yourself as project assistant in the project, inquire on the talk page, and see the to-do list, below.
Goals
We consider that an academic environment is the best place to generate and to share knowledge. In this sense, we propose this WikiProject as challenge to the students to contribute to Wikipedia. We must consider that ALL the articles of Wikipedia are written by volunteers who have dedicated part of their time to share knowledge, improve some text or other activities to keep this encyclopaedia updated and with high quality content. The idea of this project is that as students, in the indicated topics, create or improve the contents that already exist and thus all the readers will be able to benefit from it. In particular, you can see that some articles related to the topics that we will discuss during the module can be improved and, therefore, your contribution will be more relevant.
Scope
You must write an article following the rules of Wikipedia, which you will find summarized in the next section. Keep in mind the following points that can help you to do the job better (more info Contributing to Wikipedia, 10 simple rules for editing Wikipedia)
