Andrew Morton is a Linux kernel developer. He became the maintainer of the 2.6 kernel after Linus Torvalds released the first stable version on December 17, 2003. He is employed by OSDL, along with Torvalds.

Morton is one of the top echelon Linux developers who rejected the use of BitKeeper, which is proprietary software. He is often portrayed to be in a perpetual power struggle with Alan Cox, amongst others, for the prestigious position of head kernel maintainer when Linus steps down.

Andrew Morton delivered the keynote speech at the 2004 Ottawa Linux Symposium.
