Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems (IIAP). (Template:Lang-hy) is the leading research and technology development institute of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA) in the field of applied mathematics and informatics and application ___domain of computing technologies in diverse fields of science and technology.

IIAP was founded in 1957 (initially it was the Computer Centre of (National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and Yerevan State University). IIAP was the pioneer in dissemination of fields of computer science and its applications in Armenia.

The first Director IIAP was famous mathematician Sergey Mergelyan.

The main scientific directions of IIAP are Computer science and Applied mathematics in early 50s, [[Soviet Armenia]] has been a main hub of Soviet Union's critical scientific and R&D activities in mainframe and industrial computing, software development, etc.

Main directions of theoretical researches in IIAP nowadays are mathematical logic, theory of algorithms, theory of automata, algebraic coding theory, artificial intellect and cognitive models, discrete mathematics, graph theory, image processing, information theory and statistics, and numerical methods.
