"Push the Button" is the first single from the Sugababes' fourth studio album Taller in More Ways. Released in 2005, the Dallas Austin produced track became the group's fourth #1 single in the UK. The single was co-written by Sugababes members Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Heidi Range, along with American songwriter Dallas Austin. The electro influenced pop song focuses upon how a girl tries to wrap a man around the little finger, prompting him to "push the button" instead of hesitating any longer.
In August 2005, the track premiered on Chris Moyles' radio show on BBC Radio One, just presented as one of two tracks (beside "Ugly") from the upcoming Sugababes album. A little later Island Records announced, "Push the Button" was chosen as first single and the track leaked in clips onto the internet. In the UK the maxi CDs release was on September 262005.
In the music video for "Push the Button", the Sugababes are dancing in an elevator for an extremely tall building. Various men are 'pushing the button' for the elevators and waiting for it. At each floor, one of the girls gets out of the elevator and starts seducing and dancing with the man. It is interesting to note that while Heidi gets out and dances with an extremely nerdy, awkward man, both Keisha and Mutya end up with apparently attractive businessmen.
