Sharon D. Clarke
Sharon D. Clarke, all'anagrafe Sharon Dolores Clarke (Londra, 12 agosto 1966), è una cantante e attrice inglese.
Ha recitato con successo in numerosi musical nel West End londinese, tra cui: Once on this Island (1994), Guys and Dolls (1996), Rent (1998), Fame (1999), Il re leone (2000-2002), We Will Rock You (2002), Chicago (2004), Hairspray (2010), Ghost (2011), Porgy and Bess (2014), The Life (2017) e Caroline, or Change (2018). Ha recitato anche in opere di prosa, come The Amen Corner (Londra, 2014), Romeo e Giulietta (Londra, 2015) e Ma Rainey's Black Bottom (Londra, 2016). Per le sue interpretazioni in Once in this Island, We Will Rock You e Ghost è stata candidata al Laurence Olivier Award alla miglior performance in un ruolo non protagonista in un musical; nel 2014 ha vinto il Laurence Olivier Award alla miglior attrice non protagonista in un musical per The Amen Corner di James Baldwin.[1]
È omosessuale e sposata con la regista Susie McKenna.[2]
