Nel tardo 2011, Harris ha firmato con la WWE ed è stato mandato nel territorio di sviluppo di NXT nel giugno del 2012. Gli è stato assegnato il ringname Danny Burch e ha fatto il suo debutto nella puntata di NXT del 15 maggio 2013 venendo sconfitto da Bray Wyatt. Da quel momento Burch ha iniziato ad apparire sporadicamente fino al suo rilascio, avvenuto il 30 aprile 2014.
