The Grammar School, officially The Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre, is a public secondary school situated in the parish of St. Andrews in Guernsey.
The school is for children aged 11-18 for both sexes and entry requires on passing the Eleven Plus examination. It admits students from across Guernsey, and also some for Alderney. However secondary school students who pursue A Levels transfer to the school after GCSEs.
The current school is the result of the amalgamation of the old Girls' and Boys' Intermediate Schools. The school was opened in 1985 and the current headteacher is Jeff Smith, who succeeded Dennis Balls in September 2006. The school had one student who was awarded the Victoria Cross during World War I.
The Sixth Form Centre was opened in 2005. It has more facilities and was built to accommodate the rising amount of students who wish to carry on after GCSEs to do A Levels. The school gained a 'Healthy Schools' award in 2004/2005.
On November 6th 2006, a student by the name of Toby Ray Allen fell into the pond and drowned due to being weighd down by his rather large pile of school books. A black statue has been erected in the ICT department to remind students of his love oc computers and greasy black hair.
