WikiProject New York City Subway is a project to better organize information in articles related to the New York City Subway. This page and its subpages contain the suggestions and opinions of interested contributors; it is hoped that this project will help to focus and coordinate the efforts of all.

Scope

This WikiProject aims primarily to coordinate, organize and develop all Wikipedia activities concerning the New York City Subway. Specifically, it deals with everything on rails under the banner of MTA New York City Transit, including the Staten Island Railway and all subway stations, from the beginning of service to the present day. It also may include connecting services such as Metro-North Railroad and various ferries.

The parent of this WikiProject is WikiProject New York City and WikiProject Trains.

Naming conventions

Two conventions have been proposed for subway stations:
- [[Station Name / Cross Street (New York City Subway)]], exactly as given at http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/service/schemain.htm, except that numbered streets must be written with their ordinal adjective. Example: 51st Street / Lexington Avenue (New York City Subway)
- [[Station Name (Division Name Line Name station)]], exactly as given at http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/nyct/service/schemain.htm, except that numbered streets must be written with their ordinal adjective. A full list of line names will be prepared. Example: 68th Street-Hunter College (IRT Lexington Avenue Line station)
