Proposals, September 2020

Please check how many articles qualify for a stub type before proposing it.

NEW PROPOSALS

Speedies

Following templates have over 60 articles, I propose categories for these

If anyone has a problem with me posting speedy nominations from various parts of the wiki together like this just let me know.Waacstats (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Tidy up in football biography stubs

I have looked through a number of the larger fooian football biography stubs and note that we have splits for some positions but not others. To complete this split in the relative countries I propose the following templates with the categories if they reach 60 articles.

This should reduce the size of some of the larger categories and I will have a look at the rest later. Waacstats (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Split of Conservative MP for England stubs

A few potential splits that come to mind, by constituency, by decade of birth or by parliament. For most parliaments we could probably have a category but i think this could lead to massive amounts of multiple stubbing where MPs have sat in numerous parliaments, by constituency looks to be under categorized in the permanent categories so I suggest by decade of birth

Obviously categories only for those template which manage to pass the 60 mark. Waacstats (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Split of French politician stubs

Had a look at Category:French politician stubs this oversized politician category as well, looks like the following are viable

This should reduce the category below 800. Waacstats (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Split of Australian politician stubs

Already have some by party splits some more which should breach the threshold and may get this below 800 are:

We will just need to look at the Category:Australian Labor Party politician stubs then, as this is also oversized. Waacstats (talk) 17:33, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Scotland football bios

Category:Scottish football forward stubs (808) and Category:Scottish football midfielder stubs (808) and given that Category:Scottish football biography stubs is at 644 I guess there are more to go in. I suggest splitting by dob as per the defenders

Categories only where the templates pass 60 Waacstats (talk) 23:24, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

Speedies

A few places that I have noticed where categories could be created from existing upmerged templates.

Split of Pakistani railway station stubs

Category:Pakistani railway station stubs is oversized, anyone any better idea than the traditional split by province.

I note that the geo-stub category has Balochistan (Pakistan) were as the article is at Balochistan, Pakistan do we need a rename of the geo-stub cat. Waacstats (talk) 13:46, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

German airport stubs

In order to add to the categories French/Italian/Russian/Turkish and UK airport stubs, this new cat would fit into the Category:European airport stubs.

The same applies to Category:Germany transport stubs, in which "Germany rail transport stubs" and "Germany road stubs" are already existing.

In addition, there would be a certain degree of relief of the current Category:Germany transport stubs, which is currently parent to over 100 articles. --Uli Elch (talk) 10:06, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Category:European airport stubs is oversized at 569 articles, but {{Germany-airport-stub}} is only linked to 36 of those articles. I suggest the template remain upmerged for now, until such time as it's used on 60+ articles. It might help for someone to assign more specific templates to the European airport stubs articles; {{Europe-airport-stub}} is used on 284 articles, and I bet some of them are in Germany.
