Gerard grew up in an area where there had been stuff like bodies being found in the park so he and his brother coudn't really play out. So they stayed in a drew, which I guess means that they were artistic from an early age. That's what I read, anyway.
Picture change

It has been recently discoverd that Gerard Way changed his name at age 18. He was born "Stuart Lawrence Frehley". His brother kept his real first name but changed his last name to 'Way' along with Gerard. It is not known why. (credit to whatever celeb-stalker mag that was just in... Kakatatkafrinoohhh, if you can cite a reliable INTERNET source, you should add that. However, I haven't read that anywhere before so I highly doubt that it true. - DavyJonesGSB
Mcr's Genre
whoever changed the "emo band mcr" to "rock band mcr" and then saying "Mcr isnt emo" is wrong. MCR is an emo band, their actuall genre is "emo/punk-pop/post hardcore. You dont have to include the genre of the band on Gerards page but they are in fact an "emo" band.
I can't cite this which is bad (I'm sure it's in an interview somewhere) but I'm positive that the band themselves do not want to be called emo. In my opinion they are genre-less, since it changes from album to album.

Sex symbol
Should Gerard Way be categorised as a "Sex Symbol"? There are many fans of him...
NO! Absolutely not. Would such a title be in an encyclopedia unless it was in a magazine or such? AND, to boot... it's really a personal opinion.

Look, we have no reliable source stating that he is bisexual, and still, I don't see the need for it to be added to this page. As for the whole 'Sex symbol' issue, that is just ridiculous. That is purely a personal opinion, and is not something that should be included in an encyclopaedic entry.Same goes with the whole "Romantic involvment" with Bert. It isn't confirmed, and you don't have a reliable source. Please come back when you have something to base these claims on. I agree, I would like to see a source cited for that as well. It's pretty obvious that they did have a falling out, otherwise we MCR fans would be seeing more of Bert around because they used to be inseparable.--Jude 06:22, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Trivia About Gerard's Hair
That trivia should defently be removed.. it doesn't go out to his music nor himself...it's about HIS HAIR, and it's completely pointless. And also, i doubt he ever said that.

Recently on MTV2's All That Rocks, Gerard Way was voted the "Almighty King of Rock" with 63% of the vote. Should this be put on Gerard Way's page??

ok the trivia section is a mess. I recently put a piece in teh trivia section about a supposed relationship with a girl named Olivia and it was deleted. I usually don't like to rock-the-boat but that was a serious rumour for a while and I left it a month before I added it just to be sure. Now my paragraph also defunked the rumour and cited an interview refrence about how she is a hair stylist and they are "just friends". So why was it deleted? You've got a paragraph there about a supposed relationship with Bert McCraken, so why not this one?
- It is a rumour, not a fact...The bit about Bert McCraken is a fact. I think that is why it is removed. Olivia is not a person...She is Gerard's dog. The girl in the rumour is Eliza "Cuts". She is Mikey's hair stylist and a friend of Alicia Simmons. Mikey has offically declared on his myspace account that Eliza has never dated anyone in the band. There is an article titled Adriana Mercury containing many false claims about a person who is purported to be Gerard Way's girlfriend. If the article is still there when you read this, I would appreciate it if anyone familiar with Way would comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adriana Mercury so we can get rid of the false article. I would just like to let everyone know that gerard way is a wonderful man! He has so much passion, and loves and respects his fans. He has a huge heart, and is very sweet.
