Carriera

modificaCresciuto nel settore giovanile del Linfield, debutta in prima squadra il 1º maggio 2010 in occasione del match di Premiership perso 1-0 contro il Portadown.[2]
Al termine della stagione si trasferisce in Inghilterra all'Oldham Athletic con cui fa il suo esordio fra i professionisti il 6 novembre in occasione dell'incontro di FA Cup perso 3-2 contro l'Accrington Stanley;[3] realizza la sua prima rete il 7 maggio 2011 nella sconfitta casalinga per 2-1 contro il MK Dons. Resta con i Latics per 7 stagioni e mezza durante le quali colleziona 120 presenze in Football League One e 20 nelle coppe nazionali.
Da gennaio 2017 al 2021 scende di categoria per giocare con Cheltenham Town[4] e Forest Green;[5] dopo oltre 150 incontri in quarta divisione, il 10 gennaio 2021 viene acquistato dal Sunderland.[6]

modificaHa giocato nelle nazionali giovanili nordirlandesi Under-19 ed Under-21.
Debutta con la nazionale maggiore nordirlandese il 27 maggio 2011 in occasione del match di Nations Cup perso 2-0 contro il Galles;[7] nell'ottobre 2021, a dieci anni di distanza, viene nuovamente convocato in vista dei match di qualificazione per i Mondiali 2022 contro Svizzera e Bulgaria.[8]
